Nice Beaver!

UW-Whitewater's running back Justin Beaver was recently awarded the 2007 Gagliardi Trophy, an award named for decorated St. John's (Minn.) coach John Gagliardi, given each season to the top player in NCAA Division III football. Several days after receiving the honor, Beaver helped his UW-Whitewater Warhawks defeat Mt. Union in the Division III Championship game, rushing for 249 yards and a touchdown.

Nice way to end your college football career, Mr. Beaver!

Congratulations to the Warhawks on their National Championship!

The Division III championship is called the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl, by the way. Though the name does not exactly roll of the tongue, Amos Alonzo Stagg is certainly a man worthy of tribute in the field of athletics. He was a pioneer in both football and basketball and is in the college Hall of Fame for both sports.
