A Bit of Filler

Not much time to write this week. Teaching, working, and writing for other purposes. Blah, blah, blah.

Anyway, a couple of worthwhile links to occupy your time:

A very dangerous and worrisome man.

Couldn't have said it better myself. And goodness knows I've tried.

Excellent post.

This echo's feelings I've had for quite some time concerning the over use and what I consider misuse of (the now) polarizing terms such as 'Right', 'Left', 'Fundementalist', 'Liberal', and 'Conservative'.

These words have lost their original meanings to describe a *general* inclination or ideology and have in essence becomes weapons.

The current political environment throws these terms around like rocks aimed at some invisible Golaith who is the source of all the problems in the country (or world) today.

Instead of actually discussing an issue they create a bogeyman on which they can assign blame. The liberal left, the conservative right, America hater, Religious fundy, blah blah blah blah. It reminds me nothing more of spoiled school children calling each other names.
